Frequently asked questions

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is decentralized digital money: no bank or government issues it, and anyone can send or receive it without permission. Only 21 million will ever exist.

What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is a network of decentralized applications where smart contracts run. Its cryptocurrency, ether (ETH), is used to pay network fees.

Is it safe to invest in cryptocurrencies?

Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile assets: they can rise a lot and fall more than 50%. Only invest money you can afford to lose and store your keys securely.

Do I need a wallet to buy crypto?

Not necessarily: an exchange can hold what you buy. A self-custody wallet gives you control of your keys, but also responsibility for their security and recovery.
